WordWorks: Legal

WordWorks: Legal provides expert blog content for law firms. This service keeps the blog section of your law firm’s web site fresh and relevant. At the same time, it raises your profile in your geographic region and enhances your image as an expert in your practice specialties.

We do this by creating original content that shines a spotlight on your expertise in the specific practice areas handled by your firm. The cases and issues presented are chosen to show that you are committed to your practice specialty in your local region.

Content You Can Count On

The results can be dramatic, but the process is simple: You tell us what you want to appear on your blog and how often. We deliver high-quality, thoroughly researched articles. Each article is a minimum of 400 words (>500 is average), with a minimum of 2 links to outside authorities (≅4 is average). We include suggested headings, subheads, categories, and keywords for each post, with an eye toward raising search engine relevance for your practice.

Every Article We Write is Unique!

We never cut and paste content from other sources—not even our own past work.

For instance, when Pokemon Go! first hit the scene and was shown to be responsible for numerous distracted driving crashes, we produced posts for seven different clients in the same month. Each of those posts was uniquely tailored to focus on the cases most relevant to the region and the practice specialties of each client. While a few external links overlapped across some posts, there was no re-use of content.

Whether we’re writing a post about this year’s motor vehicle crash statistics for the first time or the 21st time, every post is developed from a blank slate and each post is written with only one particular client in mind. A post written for a client in California will reference different cases and discuss different issues than a post written for a client in Florida, a client in Michigan, or a client in Connecticut.

WordWorks: Legal generally produces two types of articles for your blog:

News and Current Events — a story on a topic relevant to your practice area and region, such as a product recall currently in the headlines, a recent major traffic crash, or a noteworthy appeals court decision that applies to the kind of cases you handle. News posts stay fresh for a few weeks to several months, but they are crafted to remain readable for years. News posts build your image by adding to the accumulated store of knowledge on your blog, which demonstrates your attention to current issues in your practice specialty.

Informational — articles that are more data-driven and that provide less-timely (but more broadly useful) information in your practice areas, such as car crash statistics in your state, unique concerns of local tort law, or a rundown of an area’s most dangerous intersections. Informational posts often continue to receive steady search hits for months or years (although we recommend reviewing them about twice each year). Informational posts demonstrate your depth of knowledge in topics important to your practice and build a portfolio of expert content.

Every post concludes with a “call to action” (the “CTA“) designed both to make best use of search engine keywords related to your practice and to provide all the necessary contact information for your firm. The CTA can be rigid boilerplate text that you provide (or that we develop with you), or can be a looser style that includes the same information but presents it differently from post to post. If you prefer, you can also embed the CTA in the lead paragraph of posts on your site, or choose not to use a CTA at all.

Tailored To Your Needs

When you sign up for WordWorks: Legal we’ll get together (usually by phone or conference software) to determine exactly what you need: how often you need content, on what topics, in which geographic area, etc. For most clients, we recommend two posts per month, with the majority focused on local and regional news, but with at least 25% informational posts.

Every client’s needs are unique, and we will meet them. You don’t want any current news posts? You don’t want live links to external sites? Your practice spans multiple metropolitan areas, and your posts need to reflect that? You want posts to be longer (or shorter) than our standard? Your posts need references to sources, at the bottom of each page, in Chicago or MLA format? You practice personal injury law, but don’t want any posts related to medical malpractice or elder abuse?

We’ll do it! You’re the boss: the service is not about us, it’s about what you need.
